About ME

I started this blog while serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to help share with others my love for the Savior and his gospel through my Lucky Auntpersonal experiences. Though I returned from serving my full-time mission in December 2011, life has continued to be an adventure and that journey to know the Shepherd has certainly not ended. Since being home, I have continued pursuing my education at Utah State University in the field of Mathematics Education and spent the last school year working two jobs, while participating in an after school program at a local high school. When summer came it brought with it the incredible opportunity to work and live in Hawaii for the summer months. I recently returned from Hawaii to complete my final semester of school. Life as a returned missionary has been great! Every person that I have met and every challenge that life has thrown my way has been an opportunity to learn new things and has shaped who I have become and continue to become. My hope is that writing this blog about my experiences and thoughts will help both me and you. Writing will help me to organize my thoughts as I recall my experiences, allowing me to see God’s hand more fully in directing my life. I hope from reading this blog that you will gain a desire to find true joy in life, see small moments for the great gifts that they are, and love life for the adventure that it is meant to be. We are meant to be truly happy and true happiness comes from knowing the Shepherd.

26 February 2011 “Introduction”

Hey! Thanks for checking out my blog.  This is my first attempt at blogging, so I am just doing my best to learn as I go.

My name is Brittany, and I am a Mormon Missionary!  So, as a missionary, I go by Sister Anderson.  Before my mission, I lived in Utah where I was obtaining my University education studying Mathematics and History Education.  When I recieved my call to serve in Palmyra, New York, I was very excited because this is where the Mormon church was organized and there is just so much faith promoting history!  So, I have put my secular education on hold for a short time to serve the Lord.  I have a deep passion for learning, especially when it comes to history.  I love reading classic literature and current books and find joy in studying philosophy and human behavior.  I grew up in a small town with six awesome older brothers, as well as two older and two younger wonderful sisters.  My parents are my number one role models, and it is from them that I was first introduced to and first developed a love for my Savior Jesus Christ.  I love all types of sports from basketball to softball to volleyball, and I absolutely love baking, especially cinnamon rolls.  In a nutshell, that’s me.

Out being a missionary in the New York snow.

I love being here in New York and love sharing with others about Christ because it is through Him that I have found true and lasting happiness.  He is my Savior and my best Friend.  That is my goal and my purpose to invite you to come unto Christ, learn of Him, strengthen your faith, and apply His teachings to your life.  Therein lies true happiness!

I just got your letter today! I loved knowing all about your day and the news of your life. I’m sorry you’re up here in the cold, but I am kind of glad that now you can empathize with me and what I’ve had to endure these past 4 years. 🙂 I am so excited to be keeping touch. I love you lots!
